Unit 201 -
Life Master Party for Wayne Outlaw
November 12, 2016

Honoree

Wayne Outlaw began playing in the 1960s "just throwing out cards."  While stationed in Japan, he was introduced to duplicate bridge.  He received some "pink slips" used by ACBL for recording points but never followed through by submitting them. For many years, he didn't play bridge at all.

After retirement. Wayne took up the game again.  It didn't take him long to accumulate the 500 points needed.  He earned the last of his 50 gold points in San Antonio with partner Raj Dhamankar and teammates Martha Oliver and Kris Cherry.

Wayne contributed significantly to the "rebirth" of the Orange Community Bridge League and initiated the party day each month for the club.  He is currently working full-time for the City of Port Arthur, so he's not playing on week days.  Both Orange and Beaumont miss him at the bridge table!
